I am wondering what can I do to understand organic chemistry for the DAT. I scored a 13 on my first practice test on DATBooster and I don't understand anything. I tried taking crash courses, reading notes, invested in Chad's Prep, and watched YouTube but nothing is making sense. I am worried as I have 3 weeks left until my date and really want at least a 21. Thank you.

Hi Revan, great question! Firstly, after taking each practice test, make sure to go back and review your mistakes. Understand why you got questions right and why you got them wrong, and place an emphasis on knowing what each of the reagents does for the given question. Secondly, Try doing lots of practice problems daily for active recall allowing the problems/mechanisms to stay fresh! Definitely do not memorize specific reactions; instead, memorize what the reagent does and what product it will yield.
