About Pre-Dental Advice
Pre-Dental Advice helps students get from their first college science class to a dental school acceptance. The pre-dental path can feel overwhelming: the DAT, your personal statement, shadowing and volunteer hours, and your GPA, all at once. You don’t have to figure it out alone.
Our Story
Dr. Jacob O’Brien founded Pre-Dental Advice in 2020, during his second year of dental school at Roseman University. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, he saw pre-dental students cut off from advisors, in-person shadowing and campus resources, and left to figure everything out alone.
What started as a way to help those students has grown into resources for every step of the path: DAT prep, personal statements, interviews, shadowing and volunteer hours. The goal hasn’t changed: no student should have to figure out dental school admissions alone.
Meet Our Founder
Dr. Jacob O’Brien, DMD, is a board-certified pediatric dentist who treats patients full-time at a pediatric dental practice in Utah. He earned his DMD from Roseman University of Health Sciences in 2022, where he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. He then completed his pediatric dentistry residency at Texas A&M University School of Dentistry in 2024.
His own path wasn’t a straight line. He earned a 2.7 GPA his first semester of college, graduated with a 3.7, and bombed his first dental school interview. Pre-Dental Advice is the guidance he wishes he’d had: honest, specific advice from people who’ve recently been through it.
