How to study in undergrad ? or in general

    in Pre-Dental Advice Forum

I am currently in my second year of undergrad and I am very concern with my GPA. It is currently a 3.2 and I have been studying changing up the way I study after each exam to fix things, but I still feel defeated after every exam. I had an exam in microbiology and I started studying and reviewing the very first class, but after the exam I got a 68. I was so confident that I at least scored a B. I think it has a lot to do with the way the questions are asked and I get confused every easily ? Do you have any tips, it is mainly the science courses ?

Finding a way to study that works for you definitely is not easy! What is your study strategy when studying with a group?

Here is a link to one of our blog posts that discusses time management when studying for classes in undergrad. Hopefully it helps a bit!

I am a total quizlet junkie! Have you tried using it? I love to go through and make practice questions for myself. It usually takes a while to make the actual quizlets, but then it is so convenient to study. I can study while walking on campus or between classes on my phone. You can always team up with classmates too and divide up who makes the quizlets too. Hope this is helpful! :)

How early do you start studying before your exams?

I find studying every day after class and every Saturday to be helpful! What is your study strategy that you have been using?

I typically will read over the lecture slides and write down all the basic important information in a notebook. I then read over the things I wrote down several times until I feel like I understand them well. Then when I review the lecture slides again on Saturday, I already have a solid understanding of the basics and then the more complex information seems to make a lot more sense.
